Businesses want good web design not just because they want their websites to be visually appealing to viewers. They want good web design so that people would buy their products.

LONDON, ENGLAND — (OfficialWire) — 05/21/09 — Good web design is like always having your best face to show to people. It helps get your foot in the door of opportunities. With good web design, you are presenting the best possible image for your company and your products so that when someone ends up on your site, via search engines or some other link, that the person will become interested in browsing the other pages of your website. The longer a person stays on a website, the more likely it is for that person to buy something from that website or to find helpful information from that site. When people like what they see, they stay longer, it’s that simple. The longer people stay, the more likely they will find something interesting on your site that they will buy, link to, suggest to others or make them decide to follow the website.

The total opposite is what happens with bad web design- you lose business. When your website has bad web design it is highly possible that the web traffic that ends up on your site will be turned off by the poor visual design of your site. It’s so easy to click on that red X button at the upper right hand corner of a website. If a reader stumbles on your website and closes it right away without even checking what you have to offer, what do you think are the chances of that reader coming back to your website? The chances are very slim. In fact, that reader may never find his or her way back to your website again. What you don’t know is that reader could have been open to buying products from your or getting your services if only your website looked appealing enough.

You only have a few seconds- a minute tops to make a good first impression to clients. This is why it is extremely important to have good web design that incorporates visual appeal with ease of use. You should catch the attention of readers and maintain their interest in your website. No matter how much money you spend on Search Engine Optimization and other methods to increase traffic to your site, they are useless if people don’t stay long enough on your website.
